Tired of your own JW History/ Would you like to remembered otherwise?

i realize initially this is what we all have in common, but it really gets old sometimes!

all of us have more important attributes....some are gardeners, artists, musicians, decorators, teachers, mothers, fathers, etc, etc.. what is more important in your life?.

We are not our past.

Our past is not our future.

I will be remembered as a person preoccupied with many things - one of which is advocacy for those who truly need advocacy.

I will be remembered as a trouble-maker by abusers, and as an advocate by victims.

That is a certainty - no matter what forums I visit or who my family is or was or where I come from. Growing up a victim does not make me a victim still; nor does it ensure that I will be a victimizer.

We all grow and change. I will also be remembered for that. I hope we all will be remembered for growth and change because of this board and because of how we live our lives away from the Internet.

I am sure it is happening.

Looking for input from flight attendants . . .

if you have been or are a flight attendant, i'd love to have some input about your experiences and ideas regarding it.. i've always thought i'd like to do this sort of work - due to the travel opportunities - and my service work experience.. .

so i'm going to take a shot at this - even though i'm probably too old and will probably have to wear makeup to work (yuck!).

any and all feedback from experienced flight attendants would be greatly appreciated!

I imagine it will be challenging work, but I'd bet $10/hour it beats housekeeping.

Yes, the airlines certainly are changing.

There's not much chance I'll last 20 years in that field, but I'm thinking of online classes or something while doing airline work, so I can go into teaching English as a second language later on and continue travelling until I croak - what I've always wanted to do.

The last time I flew, I noticed one of the the flight attendants was a woman older than me - very pleasant and easy to look at though. Personal hygiene is more important than looks, I guess. So, I'll have to brush up on that, LOL.

I just made Caregiver of the Year!!!

i went to a holiday party at work today and was totally surprised to win the "caregiver of the year" award.

i work as a cna for an elder care agency and have been there 9 months.

but i have more than 15 years experience with the elderly.. anyway, several of my clients wrote in letters to our corporate offices to explain why i should win the award.

Ever hear convincing testimony that d'f'ing is a "loving arrangement"?

just wondering, cuz it's so often espoused by those doing the shunning that disfellowshipping is a "loving arrangement," and there must be tons of "testimonial" literature from the borg saying so; however, when i was a jw, i don't recall ever once hearing a previously d'f''ed one giving witness to how loving it was.

Thanks for all that interesting feedback. It's so sad that so many of us bought into the lies about such acts being loving. I'm glad we all came to our senses. Shunning is such a stupid thing to do just because someone disagrees with your POV, or chooses a lifestyle you would not choose for yourself.
